We are pleased to finally be able to tell everyone about the addition of Matt Daly, our new Visual Effects Director. Matt brings a highly technical and creative toolset to Optimus, having previously worked under the same title at Digital Kitchen in Chicago. Matt's talents have been seen in spots for brands as diverse as Quikrete, Esso, and Saturn. At Optimus Matt will be our primary designer and animator for all CGI projects and, in addition, will bring a high level of expertise to the areas of live action shoots, visual effects supervision, and design/creative direction.
Matt is much more than a "3D guy" and has a diverse array of talents. It has taken quite a while for us to fill the chair, but such an important role deserves careful consideration. Matt has a lot of motivation to continue to push Optimus forward and brings a level of experience rare to his position. He has a wealth of technical knowledge and a strong design sensibility. In deciding where to go next with his talents after Digital Kitchen, Matt had the whole city open to him and called coming to Optimus "a no brainer." Our environment of collaboration and openness is what appealed to him most, and he is eager to join our "family."
