Optimus Promotes Velez and Amore to Editor Position

Premier post-production house develops talent from within, increases number of editors to 12 in Chicago and Santa Monica.

CHICAGO (October 3, 2006) - Optimus, a post-production house with offices in Chicago and Santa Monica, has promoted assistant editors Glorily Velez and Justin Amore to editor positions. Although Velez will be based in Chicago and Amore in Santa Monica, they are available in either location as are all Optimus editors. Velez and Amore will join an All-Star editorial cast of Tim Kloehn, Craig Lewandowski, Grant MacDowell, Steve Mach, Jan Maitland, Randy Palmer, Katherine Pryor, Deb Schimmel, Jim Staskauskas and Kate Wrobel.

"Glorily and Justin both possess tremendous talent, commitment and passion for their work," said President Tom Duff. "They have earned the respect of peers and clients alike and their promotions are well-deserved. We are thrilled to add their names to the list of incredible editors here at Optimus."

Velez, a native of Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, joined the Optimus staff in Sept. 2001 as an intern after earning her degree from Chicago's Columbia College. In February 2002, she was named librarian and then was promoted to assistant editor six months later. She has worked on projects for clients such as Aveeno, Bally Total Fitness and Cricket Wireless.

"I have been fortunate to work with the coolest, most supportive and talented people in the industry," said Velez. "Optimus has been such an excellent learning environment. I've worked hard, but I've also had a blast doing it. I'm excited about my new role and hopefully can help bring in a more diverse client base by being a Spanish speaker."

Amore brings seven years of industry experience to his new role. He trained at Capilano College in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and spent two years at Finale Editworks in Vancouver, before moving to Los Angeles. After stints with Superior Assembly and Spot Welders L.A., he joined Optimus in January of 2005 and has worked with clients such as Young & Rubicam Irvine, Ayzenberg Group, Ampersand Productions, November Films, and Dailey and Associates.

"Optimus has been so great to me and I'm honored," Amore said. "I'm really looking forward to focusing on my upcoming projects and turning out some high-quality work."
